Elinor Charlotte Irwin Saturday August 27th 2022

Surrounded by her family on August 27, 2022 in her 96th year at Mackenzie Health Hospital. Elinor taught school for 35 years, retiring in 1984. She was a proud member of the Richmond Hill United Church and a 75 year member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Richmond Hill Chapter 302. Elinor volunteered for 30 years at the hospital.
Elinor was the beloved wife of the late Jack Irwin (1996). She was predeceased by her sister Doris Sykes and her husband Len, her brother Garnet Shaver and his wife Jane, her brother Ramon and his wife Maria, her brother Noel and her sister Olive. She is survived by her son Stephen and his wife Amanda, her daughter Kathleen and her husband James and by her grandchildren Michael Capewell and Kelsey and Alyssa Irwin.
The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Delmanor and the doctors and nurses at Mackenzie Health. Friends and relatives may call at Marshall Funeral Home at 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill between 4pm and 7pm on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. A celebration of Elinor’s life will take place at 2:00pm on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 in the Chapel at the funeral home. Elinor will be cremated with burial taking place later at Richmond Hill Presbyterian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society of Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.
