Obituary of Eleanor Casey
The family of Christine Eleanor Casey is saddened to announce her passing on Tuesday June 14, 2022, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre at the age of 85 with her family by her side. Eleanor was born in South Porcupine on October 31, 1936. “Ellie” was predeceased by husband Michael Casey, brothers Bob Jamieson and Jack Brotherston and is survived by Sister Theresa Morelli. Eleanor was the much loved mother of Brian, Trish (Kay) and Barbara Spencer (Andrew). She will be lovingly missed by her grandchildren Alexandra (Matt Pepin), Thomas Casey ( Tamara and daughter Kaelynn) and Madison Casey and great grandchild Abigail who brought her so much joy in the last two years. Eleanor was loved my many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Eleanor gave back to her community by volunteering for many years with Phone Busters and the Canadian Cancer Society. Eleanor was a member of the Royal Purple Lodge and the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch #23) for over 40 years. For the last five years Eleanor lived at the Empire Living Centre where she made many friends. The family would like to thank the staff at the Empire Living Centre for taking exceptional care of our mother. Also thank you to the staff at the North Bay Regional Health Centre especially Colette (A3) for their care and kindness. A special thank you to Tracy Brewer Davis for her compassion in mom’s final days. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the Martyn Funeral Home (464 Wyld St. North Bay) followed by a Memorial Service on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 12:00pm at the Martyn Funeral Home. Interment at All Saints Mausoleum at a later date. Donations in memory of Eleanor may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
