JONES, Eleanor (Helkie)
87 years, passed away on Saturday August 27, 2022. Predeceased by her loving husband, Ivan Jones, and cherished sister, Ruth Ellen Neilson (Helkie). Dear mother of Shari Jones, grandmother of Rachel and Andrew (Kim) Carey, great-grandmother of Isabella and Grayson; mother of Cindy and Rich McCann, grandmother of Allison (Luke) and Jessica (Andrew) McCann; mother of Lynda and Dale Tetzlaff, grandmother of Matthew (Myranda), Justin (Kristy), and Mitchell (Michelle) Tetzlaff, and great-grandmother of Brielle, Mason and Madison; and mother of Michael Jones (Justin White). Dear sister of Jack (Marilyn) Helkie and Douglas (Barbara) Helkie. Fondly remembered by many other relations, neighbours and friends. Eleanor and Ivan were married in 1956 and soon after purchased the lot on the 8th concession building a lifetime of memories on the farm and raising their family together. Eleanor had a passion for caring for her husband, her family, and her gardens. She drew great strength from her faith. The family would like to thank the staff at the Sun Parlor Home, for their care and attention of Eleanor. Visiting at the Reid Funeral Home, 14 Russell Street, Leamington (519-326-2631) on August 30th at 10am. Funeral service, will be officiated by Rev. Paul Rodey, to celebrate Eleanor’s life will follow visitation at 11am with Interment at Erie Memorial Gardens. For those who could not be there in person we felt your love. Memorial donations in Eleanor’s memory may be made to the Leamington United Church, Erie Shores Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society.
