Elaine passed away peacefully at North York General Hospital on Wed. Oct. 26 at the age of 74. She bravely battled heart disease for most of her life.
She is pre-deceased by her husband, Roy and her parents, Reta and Alexander Elchert.
Elaine will be sadly missed by her devoted sister, Betty Elchert (Charles) and her special niece, Tracy Dunk as well as her great niece, Sarah and great nephews Nicholas and Lucas.
Elaine was born and raised in Kitchener. After graduating from the K-W Collegiate she started her secretarial career with the RCMP and retired after many years of service with the City of Toronto. (City Hall)
Elaine was an active member of Knox United Church (Agincourt). She sang in the choir and participated in many church activities. The support and helpfulness of her “church family” was truly appreciated.
She took a great interest in needlework and crocheting. Many cherished friendships were made at The Scarborough Needle arts Guild where she attended weekly meetings.
The family of Elaine wish to thank the caring doctors and nurses at UHN and NYGH as well as the PSW’s that provided Elaine’s home care.
A visitation and funeral service will be held at Knox United Church 2569 Midland Ave. Scarborough on Sat. Dec. 3 at 1:00. A reception will follow the service. Masks are encouraged.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke or The Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Elaine Rita
