Obituary of Eileen Sheppy
SHEPPY: Eileen Susan (Holdaway) –
A resident of Blenheim, Eileen Sheppy passed away at the Blenheim Community Village with family at her side on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at the age of 93.
Born in Harwich Township, Eileen was the daughter of the late Howard and Edna (Reynolds) Holdaway.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph Sheppy (1991). Predeceased by special friend Roscoe Miller (2014).
Cherished mother of Larry Sheppy (Diana), Joey Taaffe (Patrick), Gord Sheppy, Vicki Meilleur (Glen) and Betty Pepper (Brian). Honourary mother to Shirley Pokornik. She was like a second mother to Mary Anne Stonehouse.
Proud Grandma to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her siblings Ernie Holdaway, Laird Holdaway and Mary Lou Speed.
Eileen was a 20 year member and Past President of the Blenheim Optimist Club. She was an avid 5 pin bowler and played in Blenheim and Windsor Major Leagues. She regularly received the high average trophy for her bowling skills.
She also enjoyed playing euchre and regularly played Bingo and loved her Bingo family. Eileen was a ‘jokester’, and it was not uncommon to find her goofing off at any given point in time.
Eileen retired from the Blenheim and Ridgetown nursing homes after many years of service. She also worked at the McIntyre IDA Pharmacy in Blenheim as well as the Southwest Regional Centre.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Sunday, November 20, 2022 from 11:00am until the Funeral Service at 1:00pm. It has been requested that all attendees wear a mask.
Interment to follow at Morpeth Cemetery.
