Edwin Blake Blakistone Maling January 3 1955 — December 1 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Edwin Blakistone Maling on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at his residence.
Blake was pre-deceased by his parents Winnifred and Robert Maling.
Blake will be sadly missed by his daughter Rebecca Conner; grandchildren Tyler Maling and Corey Conner; son Robin Fleming; sister’s Sister Mary Joseph, Brenda Leighs and Jill Eagar; brother Kit Maling. Blake was a unique person that will be sadly missed by many who knew and loved him.
Blake was a generous and caring person. He was the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back without question.
He loved the outdoors and all its beauty. As soon has the ice melted, he would be out fishing in his beloved boat, trying to get the big one! On one of his fishing trips, “The Big One” got him and took off with his rod.
He was the first one that would talk about the next camping trip. The last few years he spent at the transit lodge, helping out with renovations, fishing and enjoying his other passion which was photography. Blake had a good eye for taking some awesome nature shots.
Blake loved to cook and bake. Treating his friends with his famous banana bread which was great.
Blake’s work career held a variety of jobs but his most memorable, was working at Winnipeg Transit for 14 years.
According to Blake’s wishes cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Blake’s honour to CancerCare Manitoba or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
