With great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Edwin Bishop after a short diagnosis of cancer. Predeceased by parents Hayward and Bennett Bishop, siblings Wilf, James,Bill, Marg,Florrie, Hayward, Earl and Lorraine.Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his devoted wife of 54 years and his four children Scott (Dawn), Robin (Rosanna), David (Laurie) and Lisa. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and he loved each one of them, his sweetie girl Jenna and big boy Evan as well as Hannah, Aika and Albert. Also his very special siblings Emma , Elva and Jack.
He was a teacher, poet, artist, boatbuilder, snowshoe maker, storyteller, mentor and so much more. Not only was he a great man, he was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. What he treasured the most was his family and he loved them fiercely. He set the bar very high as a great example of a leader when it came to community involvement. He will be sadly missed but has left many people with a wealth of knowledge, that without his kindness and desire to share this knowledge, would have been lost. His loss is tremendous, not only for our family, but for anyone who was lucky enough to have met him.
There will be visitation at The Church of the Epiphany on Thursday, December 22 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.
The funeral will take place on Friday, December 23 at 11 am. Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Greens Funeral Home, Winterton
