Edward Lee
August 6, 1954 – November 11, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Lee on Friday, November 11, 2022, at 68 years of age. His is survived by his wife, Marisa, daughter Benita Cassidy (Brandon), son Ian Lee (Natasha), and granddaughter, Abigail.
Edward was born and raised in Hong Kong. He immigrated with his parents and siblings to Winnipeg, Manitoba in pursuit of greater opportunity in Canada. He met and married Marisa in 1982, and later moved to Ottawa, Ontario. As a lover of technology, he worked in many positions as a network and electrical engineer around the world. While working and raising a family, he enjoyed to tinker, disassemble, and build mini projects for the house and for the church community.
While Edward had hoped to travel with Benita around the world on a motorcycle, he will be fondly remembered for his joy in all things automobile and being able to continue to learn and grow in his understanding of cars, computers, and even space stations. Edward will be affectionately remembered as one who never shied away from making mistakes or ‘breaking’ things, such that he might learn and be a better person to serve those around him.
Edward will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A special thank you is extended to the North Shore Hospice and their wonderful palliative care team on 7 West at Lionsgate Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations to the North Shore Hospice would be appreciated.
