CULNAN, Edward Joseph William
Born June 11, 1934 to Mary Noella Robillard (Maniwaki, Quebec) and Joseph Edward Culnan (Toronto, Ontario). Died suddenly and peacefully at home on July 13, 2022, aged 87, in Belleville, Ontario. Survived by children and grandchildren Wendy Culnan; Penny Thompson, Justin Haladay (Keileigh, Tyson, Ella), Wendel Thompson; Jenny and Barry Hutchinson, Hannah Wease and Mike Piech, Alissa Wease; Lisa Culnan; and niece Loretta Czernis. Predeceased by son Timothy Paul Culnan (1995), sister Dorothy Czernis (1988), and beloved wife Carol Ann Culnan (2020). A grandson of Irish and French immigrants, Ed was a hard working, feisty character. He retired due to health issues in 2018, after a variety of jobs including truck driving in eastern Ontario, glazier on the CN tower, and security service in Brampton, to name a few. His childhood was difficult, but his mother’s love was steadfast. He enjoyed his gardens, country music, card games and had a fondness for pigeons. He was always welcoming and generous to family and friends and was well liked by his coworkers. Much deserved thanks to Penny for her devoted care to both Ed and Carol, in latter years in Brampton as well as in Belleville. Her faithful attentions to all of their needs will always be appreciated. At Ed and Carol’s request, a private family interment service for cremated remains will be held in Brampton. Memorial donations to charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. To share memories of Edward and for online condolences, please visit www.rushnellfamilyservices.com
