Passed peacefully at Vision Nursing Home on Saturday, July 23, 2022. Ed went home to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 85. Beloved Husband of the Late Maxine (Doan) 2004. Loving father of Randy (Nancy) Winter, Brenda (Bill) Watson. Cherished grandfather of Lisa (Bryan) Johnson, Jason Watson, Jeremy (Sam) Winter. Great grandfather of Brooklyn and Hunter Johnson. Brother of Calvin (Melinda) Osmond, Roger (Sue) Winter, Debbie (Bruce) Joyce of Fort Frances ON, brother in law of Don Barnes and John Wright. Predeceased by sister Rhoda Barnes. Brother in law to the late Elroy Doan, Melvin (Helen) Doan and Marg Wright. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Ed was the owner of Schuylers Cards and Gifts for 40 years, he belonged to the Gospel Hall and had a love of woodworking and coffee with friends at Tim Hortons. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. A livestream of Ed’s funeral service will be available on the Smith Funeral Home website at the time of service. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Alzheimers Society or the Canadian Cancer Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).
