Edward Joseph Ells of Moncton,
passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, May 3,
2022, at the age of 93. Born in Main River, NB on November 7, 1928, he
was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Beers)
Ells.
Edward will be sadly missed by
his loving children, Wendy McMahon (Sterling), Kevin (Barb), Daryl
(Betty) and Robin (Laurie); precious grandchildren, Ryan (Heather),
Tanya (Jeff), Kerry (Jesse) and Sarah (Alex); cherished
great-grandchildren, Lily, Jaxon, Abigail, Brycen and Braelynn;
several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was
predeceased by his beloved wife Muriel, sisters Georgina, Alvina,
Joan, and Marie, brothers Isaac, Elmer, Ralph, and
Ronald.
Edward was a loving husband,
father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and
friend. As a young man he worked on the family farm and in
the woods. When first coming to Moncton he worked as a
brakeman for the CNR and then spent his remaining working years with
Firestone Retread Shop, retiring in 1986 after 32 years of service. He
was a member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church,
Brown’s Yard and St. George’s Anglican Church,
Moncton.
Edward was a “Jack of all
trades” and always available to help family and friends with any
project that came along. He loved hunting, horses, watching Judge Judy
and spending time at the camp in Main River, but first and foremost
was spending time with his family. His love and patience for children
led many to think of him as a second father and honorary grandfather.
He will be remembered always for his wisdom and kindness, as well as
for giving the best hugs and firm
handshakes.
Thank you to Dr. Gerald
MacDonald, Dr. Balloch, and the staff of 3400 for the excellent care
given to Dad. Also, to Dr. Veronique Roux for the many years of care
and kindness and to the Nephrology Clinic staff for their
support.
There will be no visitation at
Edward’s request and due to Covid. Funeral service to be
held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd, Moncton (858-1995)

service. Interment to be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church
