Obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mr. Edward J. Griffin “Ed”. Ed passed away peacefully early on the morning of December 21st 2022 with his loving wife and son by his side, allowing him to reunite with his beloved Mother and Father Lucy & James Griffin, sisters Betty, Mary Ellen, and Margaret “Sis.” His adored In-Laws Dot and Tommy Daniels, Sister-in-law Keli, Brothers-in-law Jimmy, and Austin. As well as his loyal companions Conan, Sheba, and Nasa.
He will always be loved and remembered by his 2 children Jesse (Jaymee), Eddy, and his fur baby Brutus. His grandchildren who adored him Aaliyah, Braxton, Haliana, and fur grandbabies Lola and Saint. His loving supportive siblings Rod (Madge), Tony (Georgette), Phonce (Keli deceased), Aggie (Harold), Shelly (Darrell), Shirl (Bob), and brothers-in-law Junior and Clarence. As well as Nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends to keep his memory alive and cherish all the times they shared with him.
Edward was 64 years old, born April 28th 1958 in Newfoundland which he affectionately referred to as The Rock. He spent his younger days outside in the woods, down to Little Gut or out on the pond shooting the puck around which always led to a game or 2 and his love of the Leafs. Playing the guitar every Saturday night with his buddy George, a case of beer by their side, a home cooked meal on the stove and many laughs to be heard was what you could expect if you popped by.
Ed was a loving and patient man who was always happy to share his vast amount of knowledge of all things; outdoors, history, hockey, music, science and many other topics with his grandchildren, children, wife, siblings and anyone else who wanted to learn. If you had a question, he had an answer.
During his most recent times you could find Ed sitting peacefully on the couch with a crossword or book in hand and Lola curled up under his legs never forgetting to tell his family to drive safe when they would leave the house. He found so much joy in watching his grandchildren play, teaching them new things, or telling them about his childhood memories.
Never missing a Leaf game, highlight or update and sharing the excitement with anyone who was around to watch and help him defend their honor. Late night conversations with his Beloved wife Dottie were some of his most cherished times.
Go Leafs Go!
