Edna May Pearce age 99 born June 27 1922 in Campbell’s Cross Ontario to Ernest Frederick Pearce and Kate Mary Newman passed away peacefully Friday the 18th day of March 2022 at Extendicare Brampton. Survived by sons Benjamin (Elaine), Kenneth (Lesley) and David (MaryLou). Grandmother to Jennifer (Richard Hilton), Lisa (Robert Turnbull) and Michelle Pearce. Great Grandmother to Pearce and Cole Turnbull. Predeceased by husband Kenneth Leonard Robert Pearce (1994) and siblings Ernest, Kenneth, Reginald, Marjorie (Coates), Gordon and Eva (Wallace). Missed by many nieces and nephews. Edna was baptized at Trinity Anglican Church in Campbell’s Cross Ontario. The family moved to Brampton in 1937 where Edna became an active volunteer at Christ Church Anglican serving as President at one time of the Anglican Young Peoples Association. Edna was a long standing member of the Catering Committee and Fellowship Group of Christ Church until her mid 90’s. Edna volunteered in the Canadian Auxiliary Territorial Service during WWII and met her husband Ken before he served overseas.
As a wartime employee of Williams Shoe Factory, Edna was a hand-cutter of boots and shoes. She married Ken Pearce, who became an employee of Williams Shoe Factory after his discharge from the Canadian Army. In later years Edna worked as a caterer at the Brampton Curling Club and later was employed at Larry’s Smoke Shop downtown Brampton. Edna was an avid supporter of the local hockey and lacrosse teams and attended games whenever she could, particularly at Memorial Arena.

A Funeral service will be held at Christ Church Anglican 4 Elizabeth St. N. Brampton L6X1S2 (905-451-6649) on Thursday, March 24 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will take place at the Brampton Cemetery (Church Street), Brampton following the service. Our sincere thanks to the Management and Staff at Extendicare Brampton for the exceptional care they gave our mother the last three years of her life and to the many friends and neighbours who looked out for Mom allowing her to stay in her own home until age 96.
