Gay – The death
occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Thursday, May
26, 2022, of Edna Gay, of Summerside, aged 100 years. Born in
Summerside, she was the daughter of the late Horatio “Rache”
and Mary “Mame” (Ahern) Schurman. She is survived
by her daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Gerald Mayea, Duncan, BC;
grandson Andrew Fulton, Victoria, BC; and brother-in-law Claude
(Marion) Waugh. She is predeceased by her loving husband
Howard Andrew Gay, Senior; and beloved son Howard Andrew Gay, Junior;
her siblings Bruce (Olive) Schurman, Ralph (Toots) Schurman, Jim
Schurman, Georgina “Dord” (1st
husband Ron Perry & 2nd husband John

Edna was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin,
neighbour and homemaker. She had a great eye for home and garden decor
and enjoyed baking, cooking, and entertaining – especially at her
cottage at Stavert Shore for many years.
The family would like to especially thank the caring Staff at
Parkhill Place, Summerside, the Staff at Prince County Hospital,
Summerside, during Edna’s brief illness, Dr. Donald Vickerson for his
many years of excellent care and Dr. John Morash and Associates for
their recent care of Edna in her later years. Special thanks to Layton
and Marsha Schurman, Marsha Schurman, Susan and Mike Rioux, George
Wright and family members, Joyce and Ken MacIntosh, Wendell and Keah
Schurman, and the wonderful folks at Central Street Christian
Church.
Resting at Moase Funeral Home, Summerside. Due to
the current Covid situation there will be a Family Celebration of Life
