Edith May Frizell
Edith Frizell, age 84, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 2nd 2022, at William Osler Hospital in Brampton, ON.
Edith was born July 26th, 1938 in Barrie, ON., the daughter of Edgar & May Thompson and sister of Ruth Radway. She would often recount fond memories of her upbringing on her family’s dairy farm.
Edith graduated from Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, ON, in 1959 and devoted her life to helping people as a registered nurse.
Edith married the love of her life, Ray Frizell in 1960 in Stroud, ON. The two were lifelong companions and soulmates. They were blessed with three children, Brian, Mark and Jo-Anne.
She was a dedicated mother to her three children and eventual caretaker for her son, Mark, whom she committed her life to helping and taking care of after his many medical challenges.
Edith was very talented and enjoyed a multitude of creative passions including baking, sewing, knitting, and quilting. She was known by friends and co-workers as a caring soul, dedicated to helping others.
Edith is survived by her husband, Ray, her children Brian (former spouse Joanna), and Jo-Anne (Alex), 5 grandchildren, Braydin (Kelly), Devon, Nicole, Robert and Hailey, great-grandson, Bowan, and her sister, Ruth.
She was preceded in death by her son, Mark.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 14th, 2022 at 10:30am at Ward Funeral Home in Brampton with funeral services to follow at 11am.
