Edith Ann Richens (nee Redpath), born September 28th, 1941, passed away suddenly March 18th, 2022, at the age of 80.
Edith is survived by her husband of 59 years, Fred Richens; daughters Debbie, Beverly (Brian), Brenda (Steve), Amanda (Sean) and Samantha; grandchildren Jesse (Holly), Eric, Andrew (Ashley), Tyler, Blake, Tory and Calista; great grandchild Amelia; her siblings Betty, John (Jeannie), Jean, Norman (Hilary) and Mary; in-laws Paul (Debbie); her best friend of 75 years Ann (Vernon), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Edith worked for The Town of Collingwood Building and Planning Department for over 30 years before retiring in 1999. She continued to serve on multiple committees and boards. She was an active member of the Collingwood First Presbyterian Church and the Canadian Calorie Counters.
Edith enjoyed traveling, paper crafting, playing cards, shopping and spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed. Heaven has gained an extraordinary Angel.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date so that all her family and friends may attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in her memory to the Collingwood First Presbyterian Church (firstprescollingwood.com/pages/give) or to the Saint Elizabeth Foundation (donate.sehc.com), for the Hope and Happiness Program to be used in the North Simcoe Muskoka Region.
