Passed peacefully away at his farm in Pynn’s Brook on Sunday, July 10, 2022, Jim Smith at the age of 87 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Jennifer (Joseph), Kim (Rick), Lisa (Melvin) and Jimmie; grandchildren: Isabella, Ashley, Cecilia, James and Brady; numerous great-grandchildren; brother Cyril; sisters and brothers-in-law: Elizabeth, Clarence (Sandra), Jim (Mary) and Shirley; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Valetta, parents Ivy and Gilbert, brother Hedley (Florence), parents-in-law Ina and William Earle. Visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Wednesday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 14 at 2:00 p.m. at 2:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating, cremation to follow. Family are requesting all visitors wear a face covering to the visitation and funeral. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association.
