Ed’s Obituary
Edward was a long time resident of the Peace Country (Fairview, Grande Prairie, Peace River, Grimshaw) and passed away peaceably on February 25, 2022 in Fairview at the age of 87 years after a brief illness. Edward was born on August 5, 1934 at Whitelaw, Alberta. After attending SAIT in Calgary where he learned his trade as a Machinist/Heavy Duty Mechanic, he met his wife Marion and danced his way into her heart. He started his family before returning to the Peace Country in 1967. He worked for R. Angus in Peace River for over twenty years before retiring in 1989.
He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed camping, fishing and bowling. He could fix and build almost anything. He was a longtime volunteer for the Grimshaw Huskies, a community volunteer and a broomball enthusiast.
He was predeceased by his wife Marion; parents Aniela and Peter; sister Cecilia (Frank) Fedorowicz and brothers Casimir, Carl (Cecilia) and Joseph (Alice) and is survived by his sons Peter (Carl) and Daniel (Lauriane) and daughter LeAnne (Doug) Christiansen. He leaves behind four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends and acquaintances.
As per his wishes, Ed was cremated. Interment of his cremated remains will be at St. Theresa’s Catholic Cemetery in Whitelaw on July 16, 2022 at 1:00 PM and a Celebration of his Life will follow at thew Dunvegan Inn & Suites in Fairview.
Donations, if desired, can be made to the Harvest Lodge or Long Term Care Unit in Fairview.
