Obituary
It is with broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Dwight Benedict Creamer, devoted and loving husband of 49 treasured years to Mary (Stevens), which occurred on December 28th, 2022, at their home. Born in Saint John N.B., on August 29th, 1950, he is the son of the late Raymond and Joyce (Brennan) Creamer.
Dwight built a career with Saint John Shipbuilding and was employed there for many years. When the Dry Dock shut down, he began working as a hospital security guard. Dwight enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, and was a passionate Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Dwight was a family man; he cherished his time spent watching his son “Sonny” (Dwight Jr.) play hockey and adored each one of his grand dogs.
In addition to his beloved Mary, Dwight is survived by his son “Sonny” Dwight Creamer Jr. (April) of Saint John; daughter Melanie Polley (Paul) of Quispamsis; grandchildren Ethan Dwight Creamer and Reid Anthony Creamer; brothers John David Creamer (Vicky) of London, Ontario, Richard “Rickie” Creamer (Joanne) of Saint John; sister Joanne Carroll (Doug Melvin) of Saint John; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Dwight will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Along with his parents, Dwight was predeceased by his brother Raymond “Sonny” Creamer and his sisters Donna Hachey, Theresa Brehaut and Lorraine Wills.
A special thank you to Dr. Paul Postuma, Allison of Integrity Home Care and Extra Mural for your kindness and compassion.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). As per Dwight’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Celebration of Dwight’s Life will be announced at a later date. Donations in memory of Dwight may be made to the Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue or a charity of the donor’s choice.
