Durant, James Harold
James Durant, 84 years, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2022, at Glengarda Hospice in Saskatoon surrounded by family.
He is survived by his wife Joan (Moren) of 62 years, sons Randy (Sandra) and Bradley (Marjory), Sister Betty (Dennis) Romaniuk, sisters-in-law Donna and Betty Durant, and Donna Miller, Grandchildren Crystal, Tyler, Angela and Emma Durant, Great Grandchildren Addison and Logan Chahley, and Wyatt Durant.
James was preceded in death by his parents Evelyn and Earl Durant, and brothers Earl Jr. and Doug Durant.
Jim’s career in Case, parts, and service began in 1960 when he was employed at Campbell’s Service Station in Quill Lake. From there the family moved to Cudworth in 1967, where he was employed at Saxinger Motors. Further job opportunities took them to Nipawin, Tisdale, and finally Regina where he was employed at Redhead Equipment until his retirement in 2000.
Following retirement, Jim and Joan moved to the family acreage at Quill Lake, and then to Martensville in 2015.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 23, at 2:00 p.m. in the Quill Lake Town Hall with internment to follow at the Quill Lake Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Quill Lake Cemetery Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
