Duilio Manera
1926-2022
MANERA, Duilio
April 7, 1929 – February 5,
2022
Our family is sad to announce the passing of Duilio in his
96th year. Beloved husband for 66
years of Rachele “Kay” (Scroccaro). He will be
forever missed by his daughters Linda (Brian Hoffman) and Diane
(Armand Chiasson). Proud Nonno of 4 grandsons Zac (Lisa
Wilson), Tyler (Amanda), Raymond and Thomas. Survived by
brother Ettore of Italy and sister-in-law Vetulia of Milton.
Fondly remembered by the Scroccaro family. Predeceased by
his sisters Rina (Isidoro Candiotto) and Iole (Guiseppe Gregato) of
Italy and brother Elio of Milton.
In November 1949, he immigrated to Canada. He met
Kay in Guelph and they married in 1955. The family moved to
the farm in 1965 where he lived a happy, simple life tending his
gardens and raising animals, even while working for the City of Guelph
from which he retired after 33 years of service. He was a
gentle, quiet, patient, and wise man who loved to share his stories
and traditions in making wine, salami and sausages.
Cremation has taken place with a private family
interment. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Foundation
of the Guelph General Hospital or to the charity of your choice, would
be appreciated.
In memory of Duilio, enjoy a glass of wine and some amaretti
cookies.
