Dudar Lillian Mary 2022

Lillian Mary Dudar: December 31, 1934 – May 13, 2022
It is with heavy hearts the family of Lillian Dudar announces her peaceful passing on May 13, 2022 with loving family by her side. She was 87 years of age.
She leaves to celebrate her life, her son Michael (Dana) Dudar, daughter Maria (Ross) Spratt. Brother William (Joan) Nadurak, sister Elizabeth (Henryk Mordarski) Nadurak, and precious granddaughter Dany Dudar; nieces and nephews JoAnne (Will) Benson, William (Tannis) Nadurak, Karen (Micheal) Quaile, Bill (Arlene) Dudar and Katie Mordarski (Alex Baxter).
Lillian is predeceased by her parents Nicholas and Mary Nadurak, baby sister Eileen Nadurak, husband Walter Dudar, eldest son David Dudar and grandson Jackson Dudar.
Lillian was born in Vegreville, AB and moved to Winnipeg with her family when she was quite young. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy and began her career with the Blue Cross. Lillian married Walter on September 26, 1959, and soon after moved to Brandon, MB. Lillian raised three children predominately in Thompson, MB, where she held several positions which included a Driving Instructor. I recall Dad giving up teaching me how to drive and said Mom was better suited as she had greater patience and nerves. She owned and operated her own restaurant for many years at the Thompson airport. She supervised her family in the making of homemade hamburger patties for her restaurant in assembly line fashion; hairnets and all.
Lillian was very active in her church and held her Ukrainian heritage very close, instilling traditions and values to her children and grandchild. Her Christmas and Easter feasts were utterly spectacular. She made the best perogies and breads, teaching us along the way. We follow her recipes but they are not the same as when she made them. She attended our Ukrainian dance classes, concerts and competitions with much pride and love.
Family meant the world to mom and it showed. We were the best cared for kids ever, right up until her passing. She always provided love, support and kind advice. We’d call for help and she was always there for whatever we needed including a swift but gentle kick. She took care of our animals when we were away and sent massive care packages when we were unable to come home. We always knew where home was, it was with her, wherever she was.
Lillian loved being a Baba, and always looked forward to Dany visiting so she could spoil her a bit. Lillian liked to call Dany “Joy” because that’s how she felt when they were together. And she loved nothing better than to have Dany’s ear to tell her stories about her Dad as a kid and his siblings, good and naughty!
Family would like to thank the staff at the Souris Personal Care Home for their support and dedicated care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 1160 – 675 McDermot Ave. Wpg, MB, R3E 0V9.
Interment will be held at a later date.
