Demelo, Duarte Manuel
72 years, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on November 1, 2022. Beloved husband of Ursulina Demelo. Loving father of Debbie Paparola (Jack) and Michelle Demelo. Cherished Vavo of Amanda, Austin, Jared and Dylan. Son of the late Mauricio and Conceicao Demelo. Dear brother of Lorena Carreiro (Daniel). Loving Godfather of Laura-Lee Pacheco and Gillian Carreiro. Will be missed by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Duarte’s grandchildren meant the world to him. Duarte worked at Omstead Foods for four years, then retired from Chrysler Canada after 30 years of dedicated service. Duarte was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4501, Leamington and a dedicated coffee drinker with his friends. He loved to be outside doing yard work, helping others, and talking to everyone passing by. A special thank you to all of the doctors and nurses at Windsor Regional Cancer Centre and hospice workers for their care, compassion and dedication over the last ten years. Visitation at the Reid Funeral Home, 14 Russell Street, Leamington (519-326-2631) on Friday, November 4, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at St. Michael’s Church, 29 Elliott Street, Leamington at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Nelson Cabral celebrant. Entombment Erie Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
