It is with great sadness and broken hearts that the family of Douglas Welch announces his passing at home on February 1, 2022 at the age of 93. Devoted husband to the late Marie Welch (2016). Loving father to Randy (Kathy) Welch, Debbie Welch, Tammy (Andre) Vermeersch, and Gaye (Ron) Taylor. Cherished grandpa to Jennifer, Laura, Morgan, Becky, Chris, Michele, Robert, Nathan and Jordan. Will be missed by his many great grandchildren. Predeceased by daughter Karen (Dave) Mitchell and grandson Mason. Doug will be fondly remembered by many extended family members and friends.
Doug, Mr. Jets, coach, dad, grandpa and great grandpa. Doug was well known around town for all things Hockey, Baseball and running a family business for many years with his wife Marie. His love and loyalty to his family was unmeasurable.
As per Doug’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, Easter Seals or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
