Obituary of Douglas Charles Humphries
HUMPHRIES – Douglas Charles of St Thomas passed away peacefully at the St Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at the age of 78. Beloved partner of Mary Chapman (nee Chetcuti). Douglas is survived by his children Tracey Dry, Nancy Mims (James Roberts), Troy Humphries (Tracy), Noel Humphries, Bruce Humphries (Kelly) and Kyle Humphries (Nikki); Stepchildren Jeannette McComb and Paul McComb. Douglas will be missed by 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; by siblings Barbara Donnelly and James Paul Humphries (Hkaw Win) and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Douglas is predeceased by his parents Roy and Rita Humphries, Infant sister Mary Lou, Infant son, brother in law Jim Donnellly and sister in law Irene. Douglas worked for Erie Iron for many years and was a lover of old cars. Arrangements entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570). Cremation has taken place. A private interment of ashes will be held at a later date. If desired, donations to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
