Douglas James Payne
Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family on June 16, 2022 at Pleasant View Towers, at the age of 84 years.
Predeceased by his parents Frederick and Hilda Payne and his wife Margaret (2007).
Leaving to mourn with cherished memories his children: Donald “Don” (Margaret), Karen Payne-Hodder (Carl) and Dave (Donna); grandchildren: Douglas Payne, Bradley Hodder, Jeffrey Hodder and Chelsea Payne-Whelan (James). Also left to remember Doug with fond memories are sisters-in-law: Shirley Lamont (Larry, deceased) their daughter Donna Lamont Benn and family, Pat Spurrell (Joe, deceased) their sons Barry Spurrell and Bob Spurrell and their families, Dolores Wheeler and special brother-in-law and friend Peter Wheeler.
Doug also leaves behind his many friends for the CLB Regimental Band and his many coworkers at Hickman Motors where he worked for 45 years.
In lieu of flowers donations in Doug’s memory can be made to the CLB or The Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
Visitations will take place on Sunday, June 19, 2022 from Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue from 10am-12pm, 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm and on Monday, June 20, 2022 from 10am-12pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Mary’s Anglican Church on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 2pm.
