With the love of his family surrounding him and after a short but courageous battle with cancer, Doug embarked on his final journey. He went peacefully on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay. Doug York of Fenelon Falls was in his 68th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Kimberley (nee Randall-Steele). Loving father of Cameron York (Marcena) of Yellowknife, Doug York of Edmonton, Stuart York (Veronica) also of Yellowknife, and step-father of Greg Pelleterio also of Edmonton, Larissa Pelleterio of Vancouver Island, Luke Steele (Christy) of Alliston, Shannon Steele (Andrew) of Trent Lakes and Max Steele of Fenelon Falls. Dear grandfather of Kelton, Lochlin, Kenzie, Hannah, Hazel, Logan, Kenny and Margo. Doug is pre-deceased by his parents Louis and Mary York and will be forever loved and remembered by his siblings; Judy Humphrey (Dave, pre-deceased), of Belleville, Larry York of Burnt River, Marylou Grummitt (Frank) of Muskoka, Dave York of Trent Lakes and will never be forgotten by his many nieces and nephews. The family of Doug York will receive friends at the JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION & TRIBUTE CENTRE, 8 Princes’ St. W., Fenelon Falls on Monday, January 31, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Facemask as well as proof of vaccination is required and/or a negative rapid antigen test within 48 hours. A private family funeral service will follow in the chapel.
