Douglas Wayne Cole, of Dora Drive in Wallaceburg passed away peacefully on December 30, 2022.
In 2022, Doug celebrated his 80th birthday and fifty-first wedding anniversary with his beloved wife Le. He was a devoted father to his daughters and sons-in-law, Linh (Robert Gordon) and Susan (Felix Brun). He will be greatly missed by his three grandsons, Austin, Maven and Boone.
Doug was born to the late Glen and Marion Cole of Wallaceburg. He was a dear brother to the late Norman (Mari), James (Donna), the late Donald (Grace), and Glenda McArthur (Larry), and will be greatly missed by his many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Doug was a retired Captain of the Canadian Armed Forces, serving his country for over thirty years including a tour in Vietnam as a Canadian Peacekeeper. He dedicated his life to upholding the values of family and had great integrity and humour.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but his spirit and memory will always be with us. Rest in peace, Douglas.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home (409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg, 519-627-3231). A Celebration of Doug’s life will be held at a later time.
