Douglas “Bugsy” Francis Moran
June 26, 1954 – March 11, 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Douglas “Bugsy” Francis Moran a life time resident of Sombra. Doug loved the water, living his life along the banks of the St. Clair River. In his youth, Doug worked many years on the Sombra Ferry the Daldean and a few years sailing on several ships that plied the Great Lakes. He loved to boat fast, water ski, and was an enthusiastic hunter sharing his love for these activities with his son Kyle. He was also a great admirer and a proud father of his daughter Katie’s artistic achievements, as he always spoke highly of her accomplishments. After 35 years with CF Industries as a process operator, where many of his coworkers knew him only as Bugsy, he retired to life on the St. Clair River watching the passing of ships and the magnificent sunsets. He was a son of the late Francis “Frank” and Harriet (Watson) Moran.
Proud and Loving father of Kyle (Chloe) Moran and Katie (Ty) Moran. Dear brother of Sharon (the late Ron) Johnston and Tim (Ann Marie) Moran. Kind uncle of Shawn (Buck Wheat) Johnston, Dean (Julie) and Kristine (Martin) Pittuck. He will also be remembered by many great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank his wonderful network of neighbours and friends particularly over the last few years and especially thanks to Jan Anderson, Mary Ann Hay and Jim Toner.
