Edward Douglas Hewitt passed away peacefully on Monday October 10, 2022 at the age of 98 years.
Doug was born August 20, 1924, the first child of Susan and Edward Hewitt. His early years were spent on the family homestead at Olin Creek in the Porcupine Hills, surrounded by extended family. Doug volunteered with the Canadian Army and served in Europe during WWII, being discharged in 1946 with the rank of corporal.

Doug enjoyed the outdoors and the ranching lifestyle. He was respected for his horsemanship and skills working with cattle. Doug had an excellent memory and knowledge of his family history. If anyone wanted to know anything about the family, he was the resource they turned to.
