It is with great sadness that we announce Doug’s passing on July 5, 2022 at the age of 87.
Loving husband of the late Beatrice (nee Ritchie). Father of 3 children, Doug (Doris) Bingeman, Joanne (Dan) Tiffin, and Barb (Val) Ward. He will be sorely missed by his 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Dad married Bea in September 1955 venturing out on their own before they were 20 years old. Dad loved soldiering. He was a member of the 3rd Battalion Royal Canadian Regiment militia for 18 years until 1969 when his employer transferred him from Woodstock to Windsor. Dad and mom became active members of the Windsor Yacht Club where he held all executive chairs leading up to his Commodore year in 1984. He then proudly represented Southwestern Ontario Yacht Clubs as President of the Blue Gavel for 2 more years. Most recently Dad, was active in the RCR Association of Es County acting as President for a number of years. He was so proud of all those who served. With his passing, Dad has now been reunited with his true love, Bea.
In memory of Doug, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
