A resident of Blenheim, Dorothy DeWispelaere passed away at the Village on the Ridge, Ridgetown on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 in her 95th year.
Born in Blenheim, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Charles Walter and Virginia (Martin) Bolus.
Predeceased by her husband Lucien DeWispelaere and her brother Robert Bolus.
Dear aunt to Jackie DeWispelaere (Ken), Barb Bowden (Bill), Mark DeWispelaere, Jerry DeWispelaere, Colleen Bates (Marshal), and Richard Rakus.
Sadly missed by close friend Ireland Casey (Leona).
Dorothy will be missed by many family and friends.
Dorothy worked at and eventually ran the family business, Bolus Meat Market which she ran with her husband Lucien. She was very involved in the community, being a past member of the IODE and the Blenheim BIA.
Dorothy was known to dress up for any occasion, never leaving home without a hat. She was very proud of her Blenheim roots, and always stood up for her community.
Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Monday, February 28, 2022 from 11:00am until the Funeral Service at 1:00pm. An interment will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery.
Donations made in memory of Dorothy to the Chatham Kent Hospice Foundation or the Trinity Anglican Church in Blenheim would be appreciated.
