Obituary of Dorothy Ileen White
With appreciation for a life well lived, the family of Dorothy I. White of Saint John, cherished wife of the late Malcolm White, announce her passing which occurred on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home. Born in Saint John, she was the youngest daughter of the late Jesse and Emma Jane (Phillips) Wyman.
Dorothy had a long working career at UNBSJ, where she worked in office administration. She was a skilled dressmaker and enjoyed decorating and flower gardening. Together, with Malcolm, she enjoyed playing in many golf tournaments. Dorothy served as a past president of the Rockwood Golf Ladies and the New Brunswick Senior Ladies Golf Association. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was predeceased by her brothers, Phillip, Vernard and Kenneth Wyman and her sisters, Hattie Moffatt and Phyllis Thomson. Dorothy is survived by her many loving nieces and nephews and their families; brother-in-law, Calvin White (Lois) and sister-in-law, Nancy Dann.
In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes, there will be no visitation. However, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service which will take place from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Due to Covid-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings by the Government of New Brunswick, all those 12 and older attending the service will be required to show proof of vaccination and a piece of government-issued ID or proof of medical exemption. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by visiting Dorothy’s obituary on the Brenan’s website.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
