Dorothy Mae Robinson (nee Sanders)
May 25, 1930 to April 19, 2022.
Born in Campbellford, to Perry and Frances (Dingman) Sanders. Married for 66 years to loved husband, Gerald “Robbie” Robinson. Sons Edward; Christopher; Matthew (predeceased) and Richard. Grandchildren Tyler (Rachel); Curtis (Stephanie); Brittany; Aaron, Andrew (Mallory), Devin (predeceased)(Angie); Natasha (Kevin); Lucas; Bryan (Lorna). Great-granddaughters Lily, Brooklyn and Wynetta. Brother Edward Sanders (Jean); sister Elaine (predeceased).
Dorothy’s homes were in Healy Falls, Peterborough, Oshawa, Bowmanville, Orono and Newcastle.
She began her teaching career at a one-room school called Antioch in Clarke Twp. Later schools were Ontario Street School, Bowmanville and Orono Public School.
Dorothy travelled, attended theatre, enjoyed book club, and wrote book reviews for the Orono Weekly Times. She was a strong supporter of her families interests; ball, hockey, standard bred racing, lacrosse, tennis, soccer, dance and swim lessons.
Home was the scene of many dinners and swimming pool parties. She was involved in many community activities, especially at Orono United Church.
Dorothy will be missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
