Dorothy “Eileen” Clinch
1946-2022
The passing of Dorothy “Eileen” Clinch, wife of
Douglas Clinch of Grand Manan NB occurred at the Grand Manan Hospital,
Grand Manan NB on April 23, 2022. Born on Grand Manan NB on June 29,
1946, she was a daughter to the late Gordon and Mavis (Wilson) Brown.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, in addition
to her husband of 59 years, Douglas, Eileen is survived by her
children: Bill (Amy), Ian (Cantrese), Todd (Stacey) and Tina (David);
many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and
cousins. Beside her parents, she was predeceased by one grandson:
Warren Chandler.
After working for many years boning herring and packing
sardines for Connors Brothers and working in homecare, Eileen retired
to be a stay at home wife and enjoyed her retirement with her husband
and loved to be in the company of her beloved dog Molly and her
grandchildren who were truly her pride and joy.
Eileen always had a smile and a hello for everyone she met
whether she knew you or not. She loved sitting on the doorstep
watching the birds and come springtime she could be found out on the
lawn picking up the rocks left behind from winters snow plowing. She
often said it was like picking berries, only she couldn’t eat them.
Eileen enjoyed her evenings watching TV with Doug and doing her
diamond dot paintings and seek a word puzzles. Her love and devotion
will be sadly missed by her family.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home
(755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the Immanuel
Family Church, Grand Manan NB with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and
6-8 pm. The service will be held from the church on Thursday at 12:30
pm with Rev. Jeff Benson officiating followed by a private family
interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery. In Eileen’s memory, donations
to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the
family.
