Obituary for Dorothy Clara Hobbs
Dorothy Clara Hobbs, 96, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. She was born to parents Thomas and Clara Broadhurst, May 26, 1925, in Hamilton, Ontario.
Dorothy is survived by her three children and their spouses:
Steve Hobbs & Gabriella Burger, Kathy & Murray Robinson, and Daniel & Georgina Hobbs.
She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, their spouses and sixteen great-grandchildren:
Adam & Amanda Hobbs (Mason & Ella), Jeff Hobbs, Jill & Thien Nguyen, Jessica & Jim Stowe (Clara & Jimmy), Josh & Amy Robinson (Emma, Jesse & Lucy), Julia & Mark Caron (Jack, Thomas, Calvin & Daniel), Miquela & Joel Roeleveld (Hudson, Vera & Wesley), Gareth & Courtney Hobbs (Easton & Jace), and Karina Hobbs.
Dorothy was predeceased by her loving husband, Royal Gordon Hobbs, in 2010. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
Dorothy often blessed those around her, reciting Numbers 6:24-26 “The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee and give thee peace.”
She truly was a blessing to each and every person she encountered, whether family, friends, or someone she had just met. So tangibly showing the love of Jesus through her tender-caring heart, warmth, kind actions, uplifting songs, deep encouragement and contagious laugh. She had a way of meeting everyone where they were at and loving them well.
A memorial service will be held at Royal York Baptist Church on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 10 AM.
