Obituary of Doris Lillian Bellegarde
On Monday, April 11, 2022, Doris Lillian Bellegarde, passed away peacefully at the age of 87. She was predeceased by her husband Barney Pinay; daughter Heather Daigneault; son Lionel (Paddy); parents Olive and William Bellegarde; grandchildren Robyn, Jackie, Alicia; sisters Alma, Frieda and Shirley; brothers Steve, Jimmy (Jan) and Tommy (Annie); sons-in-law Kevin Missens and Leon Montgrand; mother and father-in-law Prisque and Alice Pinay; brothers-in-law Walter, Russel and Wayne; and sisters-in-law Elva and Muriel.
Doris leaves behind her daughters Glenda Montgrand, Judy (Ray) Pinay, Brenda Missens and Peggy Bellegarde; son Shawn Bellegarde-Cote; brothers and sisters Anita Mcleod, Keith (Karen), Frances (Alfred), Jean, and Terry; brothers-in-law Eric, Clarence (Rosabelle), Herb and Don; sister-in-law Gladys. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; adopted children Ron (Bev) Crowe, Patty Stonechild, Sonia Desnomie, Denyse Swanson-Bellegarde, Norma Mclean, Ruth Whitehat (Miss Kitty), Mary-Anne Ketchemonia, Florence Allen, Jeff McDonald, Edward Bitternose (Jr), Nicole/Royce Cote, Trevlen Yuzicapi, and Thomas Kequahtooway; all her Residential School children, Lebret Eagles Hockey Players, and many children that she adopted over the years; and all of our racetrack family and her many bingo friends.
A Prayer Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on April 13, 2022 at Lebret Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. A Traditional Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on April 14, 2022 at Treaty 4 Governance Building Tipi, 740 Sioux Avenue South, Regina, SK. Interment will be held at later date.
