Doris Muriel Nodding
1928-2022
At the Fundy Nursing Home at Blacks Harbour NB on April 15,
2022, Mrs. Doris Muriel (Dickson) Nodding, wife of the late Byron
Nodding, formally of Beaver Harbour NB. Born at Blacks
Harbour NB on November 24, 1928, she was a daughter of the
late Amy Dickson.
A loving mother, grandmother, she is
survived by her sons: Stephen Nodding of Beaver Harbour NB and Mark
Nodding (Mary Ann Chevarie) of Saint John NB, her daughters: Ora
McCarthy of Pennfield NB and Joan (Fidele) Marceau of Blacks Harbour
NB , daughter in law Lorena (Mike) Leavitt of Beaver Harbour NB,
grandchildren: Jeffrey, Nicholas, Jacalyn, Mark C., Susan, Timothy,
Mark, Christopher and Kelly, several great grandchildren as
well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her
mother, she was predeceased by her husband Byron, son Clifford
“Cliffie” Nodding, grandsons: Troy, Kristopher and
Matthew.
Prior to her retirement, Doris
worked many years for Connors Brothers from 1962 to 2003. Doris loved
music, especially live music and attended many concerts with her
daughter in law Lorena, as well as dancing. Doris loved to travel and
went on many road trips and flew for the first time in 2013
at the age of 85 to Alberta, where she was given the royal treatment
and grand tour by the planes Captain. Doris also enjoyed her family
and especially her grand childrens hockey games. She also was an avid
animal lover, especially cats and named her last cat Hallie Barry. She
will be sadly missed.
Resting at the Beaver Harbour
Baptist Church from where visiting will be held on Monday from 1-2 PM,
with service beginning at 2PM with Rev. Bill Lea officiating, followed
by interment in Harbourview Cemetery. In Doris’s memory, donations to
the Charlotte County Cancer Society or a charity or the donors choice
would be appreciated by the family.
