APRIL 9, 1928– JANUARY 10, 2022
The family wishes to announce the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother Doris Long at the Terrace Lodge in Aylmer, at the age of 93. Loving wife to the Late Robert Long (2013), Caring mother to Carolyn Ward (Lester Shelley) Ward, Sharon & Joseph Szoke and Robert & Patricia Long. Loving grandmother to Mike (Stephanie) Wedemeyer, Jeff Wedemeyer, Rob(Margaret) Szoke, Tammy (Roger) Podlesky, Robert (Donna) Long, Jim (Laura) Long, Rick (Andrea) Long, Darryl (Caroline) Depew and Todd (Pam) Depew and 22 great grandchildren. Doris will also be missed by her sister Betty (the late Harry) Mercer and by several nieces & nephews. Predeceased by her sister Francis (Art) Croxford and her niece Joyce Saunders. Doris was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 60 years grew tobacco with her loving husband Robert for 36 years. Doris loved Bingo, Crochet, Knitting, Word Searches and Crossword Puzzles. She was passionate about her Toronto Blue Jays, her Toronto Maple Leafs and Western Novels. The funeral arrangements for Doris are private with a private burial to be held at Tillsonburg. In Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Charity of your Choice and can be done on the funeral home website or by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home (519) 842-5221.
