Obituary
Our beautiful Mom (Grandma, Gma & GG) gave us her last hugs on October 28, 2022.
Her love of family, her beauty, poise, and graceful ways will be in our hearts forever. We are wrapped in the warmth.
Mom was a kind and generous person who willingly gave of her time to many throughout her life: Cancermount: the care and support she gave to cancer patients and their families, travelling all over the province to be where she was needed. The Schizophrenia Society, Canadian Daughters, and the Cumberland Care Centre and to so many who needed love and care.
Doris will be remembered for her “Hug n Tuc” pillows that she sewed and gave to comfort those with back or neck pain or just for comfort on planes or car rides!
Her sewing skills: loved ones received special character dolls that she had so much fun creating for them. The Red Hat Group was well suited to her sense of humour; her skits and the costumes that she created – the songs and fun- what a great entertainer!
Doris was predeceased by her Parents: Sophie Louise George & Joseph Andrew Kamai. Her three husbands: Monte Sorensen, Luke Tremblay & Wilf Truchon. Daughter Lois Sorensen, Grandson Travis York, Great Grandson Josh Carter, and all of her siblings.
She is survived by her daughters Patricia & Husband Garrey Wooldridge & Elaine Wiles, along with three more kids in her life: Heather, Lois, and Marlene. The very best Grands who were always there for & with her; Tami/Shannon, Cathe/Gary, Leanne/Leonard, Lonnie/Glen, Glenda Great Grands, Great Great Grands, Nieces, Nephews and so many special friends.
Special thanks to Friend & Dr. Green, Dr. Brais, The Palliative care team & Hospice for the amazing care given to Mom. It is hard to express in words just how special these care givers are. We appreciate you all so much.
There are thousands of stars in the night sky and shells on the shore together.
Hundreds of birds go singing by, especially in sunny weather.
Millions of dewdrops to greet the dawn. Thousands of leaves in the fall……
But only one Mom for us……
We can never say goodbye to you
Because we cannot bear the pain-
Instead, we say we love you – again
And again, and again.
Ahui a hui kaua – until we meet again
A Private Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Doris Elsie Kamai Andrews June 13 1921 October 28 2022 (age 101)..
