Doreen Jean (Starritt) was born in the old Saint Eugene Hospital in Cranbrook, BC on September 15, 1933.
She passed away peacefully on November 8, 2022 at the age of 89.
Doreen lived most of her life on the Family Farm just outside of Cranbrook. In her earlier years, Doreen was known for starting the cafeteria at the college and was brave enough to escort a group of seniors on a special trip to Hawaii. Her many talents extended to creating and decorating wedding cakes, sewing gowns, building a barn and being a fierce card player. Her adventurous side took her travelling with her sisters. She will be lovingly remembered at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee waiting for a visit or a game of Skip Bo with whomever came through the door!
She especially treasured her visits from her fourteen Grandchildren and twenty-five Great Grandchildren. She is survived by her children: Eldoreen, Alan(Esther), Kevin(Linda), Vern, Kristine(Gerry) and Kelly. She was predeceased by her Husband Eldor, Son-in-law Brian, her two Sisters and a Brother. Mom, Ma, Gramma(J), Great Gramma(J), Aunty Doe you were so loved and will be missed by all who knew you.
Be confident, determined, courageous, capable, adventurous, resourceful, generous, artistic and loving.
“You can do anything you set your mind to”
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
