Doreen Theresa Stocks (McLaughlin)
Peacefully in her room at Manotick Place Retirement Community, with her daughters by her side, on Tuesday March 1st, 2022. She was in her 87th year. Loving wife of the late Douglas Stocks, mother extraordinaire to her daughters Tamara (Sean Boylan) and Stacey (Guy Jeffrey). Truly loved by her brother Alan McLaughlin (Pauline) and pre-deceased by her brothers Ivan (Christine), Ronald (Judy), Gary and her sister and best friend Carol. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law Robert Stocks (Eleanor) and is pre-deceased by her brother-in-law Jack and brother and sister-in-law Bill and Heather Stocks. She would also like to acknowledge her several nephews and nieces: Mike Stocks (Cheryl), John Stocks (Bev), Andrew Stocks (Brenda), Chris Stocks (Teresa), Patrick McLaughlin (Karen), Shannon McLaughlin, Debbie McLaughlin, Dawn McLaughlin (Serge), Wanda McLaughlin (Nicole) and Jennifer McLaughlin. She will be fondly remembered for her amazing sense of humour, her jokes, her love of family and friends, as well as her love for Elvis, slot machines and Hawaii. Her family would also like to thank the staff of Manotick Place Retirement Community, Dr. Michelle Casey, and all the amazing nurses and PSW’s who took such great care of her to the end. A celebration of her life will be held sometime in the spring in her hometown of Cowansville, Quebec. If desired, donations may be made on her behalf to Diabetes Canada.
