Dora Eva Mercer, 94, passed away peacefully at Brucelea Haven in Walkerton on August 5th, 2022, with her family by her side. Dora is survived by her daughters, Carol (Pete) Vair of Mount Forest and Gail (Mark) Pletsch of Walkerton. Dora will me missed by her beloved grandchildren Laura (Brian) Gemin, David (Nadia) Pienkos, William Snarr, Brittany Vair, and great-grandchildren Brayden and Brielle.
Dora is predeceased by her husband George William Mercer, brothers Jack, Tom and Bill, and sisters Betty and Vera.
Dora was born and raised in Broadstairs, England. She immigrated to Canada in 1955, meeting her loving husband on the boat enroute. They raised their two daughters in Brampton where she worked at the Hudson Bay Company for 27 years. She then moved to Guelph Ontario where she helped raise her grandchildren, finishing off her life journey in Walkerton, Ontario.
She is remembered for her loving and humorous spirit, her courageous and positive attitude, and most of all her unfailing kindness to all those whose lives she touched.
Dora will be laid to rest in Meadowvale Cemetery in a private ceremony.
