Dora Margaret Kathleen Marshall passed away peacefully following a short battle with cancer at Moog & Friends Hospice on Sunday, August 14, 2022. She is survived by 4 children, Lisa (Ed) Bastac, Kristina (Vernon) Lambson, Peter Marshall, Richard (Traci) Marshall. 12 Grandchildren, Terry, Alicia, Kristopher, Kaisha, Michael, Aaron, Jennifer, Halle, Erica, Brittany, Christian and Danielle. 6 Great Grandchildren Hayden, Gemma, Rowan, Kieran, James, and Lilly plus another on the way. Many more extended family members reside in Britain and Australia. Predeceased by parents, 6 brothers and 5 sisters.
Born and raised in London, England, Dora arrived in Canada as a new bride in 1957, moving to Penticton with her 4 children in 1971.
Dora was well known for her involvement in the community such as Penticton Toastmistress, both Director and Past President of the Penticton & District Community Arts Council, Community Chair for the Okanagan/Thompson International Sculpture Symposium and Penticton Senior Peer Councillor. Dora was also highly dedicated to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints holding various positions over the years including early morning Seminary Teacher, Public Affairs Director, Nursery Conductor as well as Congregation Conductor. Dora’s work in Penticton included Bank of Montreal, Trophic Canada and owner/operator of a Health Food Store prior to entering the Real Estate Profession in 1987 which she retired from at the age of 82.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2946 Main Street South in Penticton on Monday, August 22nd at 1:00pm. A private Internment will be taking place at Lakeview Cemetery prior to the Celebration of Life.
The family wishes to thank all staff of Moog & Friends Hospice for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
