Obituary of Donna Joy Cockwell
July 25, 1940 – February 24, 2022
Donna passed away at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital at the age of 81, with the love of her family surrounding her.
Donna spent many years in Cranbrook where she met and married her husband Don, and where they raised their 2 children. She was a valued member of the medical offices where she worked for many years; she also spent time volunteering in the community. Donna really enjoyed golfing, quilting, and playing cards and was a member of several groups and clubs involving these. She was also a loyal and avid hockey fan, both of local teams and of the Vancouver Canucks.
Donna had a deep love for family and cherished her many friends. She was known as a true lady who was always willing to help others and who cared deeply for her community.
Donna was predeceased by her husband, Don, in 2015.
She is survived by her son, David (Sandi), daughter, Deanna (Eric), 4 grandchildren, Jason (Chelsey), Chantel (Willy), Bryan (Sara), and Aaron (Sharla), 4 great-grandchildren, Aviana, Jailyn, Taya, and Emily, her 2 sisters, Diane (Darrel) and Darlene (Joseph).
A Celebration of Donna’s Life will be held at a later date.
