Death Notice of Donna Reay
Donna Marlene Reay (nee Steinacker), of Durham, passed away at London Health Sciences Centre – University Hospital, on Thursday, November 10th, 2022 in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of Glenn Reay. Loving mother of Morgan Reay and his wife Tina of Waterloo, and Eric Reay and his partner Carla Cowtan of Fergus. Cherished grandmother of Kaitlyn Reay, Tristan Reay, Kameron Reay, and Jacob Lumgair.
Donna was born and raised in Durham and became a teacher. Her teaching career was spent teaching at the Durham High School and John Diefenbaker Secondary School. Donna was an avid reader and had a love of history and books. Donna and Glenn were avid travelers, wintering for 30 years in Mexico and she will be missed by her friends there.
Visitation will be held at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham on Tuesday, November 15th from 6 – 9 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Donna’s life will be held at the Durham Legion, 271 Bruce Street North, Durham on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Interment at Durham Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Durham Library (cheques payable to West Grey Public Library and in the memo line indicate “Durham Branch”) would be appreciated by the family.
