Donna’s Obituary
We would like to announce the passing of Donna Merele Willett at the age of 79. She passed peacefully at home on Friday, September 30, 2022. She was the beloved daughter of the late Raymond and Angelina Willett, born July 19th 1943. Donna is survived by siblings: Rev. Hugh (Alice) Willett, Ottawa ON; Rev. Jackson (Elaina) Willett, Kingston, NB; Barbara (Carl) Norden, Toronto ON; Nancy (Reuben) Hatt, Mount Uniacke, NS; and Bryan (Shirley) Willett, Bridgetown NS. Donna was predeceased by sister Elizabeth Ann. She was a special aunt to Crystal (Michael) Carlos; Jeffery Norden; Joel (Angela) Willett; Jana (Michael) Arthur’s; Jayd Merrick; Pamela Lewis; Carol (Michael) Canty; Dena Willett and Sarah (Travis) Wentzell. She was predeceased by nephew Thomas (Mary) Norden.
A native of Nova Scotia, Toronto was home for 59 years. Donna enjoyed a long career at Simpson’s and The Hudson’s Bay Company. She was a beloved member of both the Parkdale Baptist Church and Yorkminster Park Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was involved in many Church activities. Donna was a caring soul who supported her community through her involvement in several local charities which allowed her to help her neighbours. She was a loving woman who will be missed by her Church, community, and family. As God has watched over her and protected her throughout her life, may He now gather her into His arms to know the peace and joy of His presence.
A memorial service will be held at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church,1585 Yonge Street in Toronto on October 22nd at 11:00 am with a reception to follow in Cameron Hall. A graveside service will be held in Nova Scotia at the Nictaux Baptist Cemetery on November 5th at 11:30. In lieu of flowers, Donna has asked that donations be made in her name to the House of Compassion or Dorcas through Yorkminster Park Baptist Church.
