Donna Margaret Maier 1937 2022

Donna was born in Windsor, Ontario, November 10, 1937 to Andrew and Margaret Maier. She died peacefully in Victoria, BC on December 1, 2022 after a brief illness. She is survived by her sister, Lynn Malac of Windsor, Ontario and Anne Hutchinson, a niece in Australia together with her best friends, Ernie Bent and June Perry.
Donna was a Registered Nurse who trained in Windsor, Ontario and nursed in Toronto, Calgary and Victoria. She taught nursing in Toronto.
Travelling was one of her favourite things and she travelled internationally and visited many countries around the world. Some of her other favourite things were the Chemainus Theater, the Victoria Symphony and Butchart Gardens. She was a lifetime member of the Salvation Army and faithful supporter of the Victoria Citadel. She enjoyed participating in events and activities at the church and spent hours of volunteering at the Salvation Army’s Addiction Rehabilitation Center. She even learned a musical instrument and played in the church band.
A Celebration of Donna’s life will take place at the Salvation Army Victoria Citadel, 4030 Douglas Street, Victoria, BC on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Salvation Army, Victoria Citadel, 4030 Douglas Street, Victoria, B.C. V8X 5J6
