It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Donna Ann Malanowich (née Letexier).
Donna was born in Arborg and raised in Fisher Branch, Manitoba. Donna later moved to Winnipeg where she raised two wonderful children and resided with her husband of 24 years.
Donna loved people and animals. Whenever you stopped by, you were greeted with a big smile, great conversation and many laughs. Donna will always be remembered for her “great” sense of humor. Each one of us has a memory of a funny saying or her “joking” around, which lead to tears streaming down our faces and an aching stomach from the laughter. At times, we had to tell her to stop with the “kidding around” as our sides could not take it anymore from laughing so hard.
Donna showed kindness to all people and never turned anyone away in their time of need even if it wasn’t the greatest time for her. Most of us would stop by just to talk as she was a great listener and would give you good sound advice from the heart. She never judged anyone and would help everyone.
She was a beacon of light to all of us.
Donna also loved animals and had many through the years. She even went to school to be a veterinary assistant, her dream job. She rescued many animals and being with them was her “happy” place. They brought her much comfort as they were the ones listening and never talked back to her. Donna would have had a house full of animals but Ben decided 3-4 animals at a time would be enough to fill the house and he would still have a spot on the bed.
Donna leaves to mourn her passing, her beloved husband Ben and daughters, Carmen and Chantel. Her grandchildren, Madison (Piper), Brooklyn, Jaida and Jackson. Along with her adopted daughters Lana McIvor and Cindy James and pets Rayne, Zoey and Chainey.
Donna leaves behind her mother Elaine and sisters Darlene (Allan), Sherry, Shelley (Stan) and Pam.
She also will leave behind her nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends.
Donna was predeceased by her father, Robert, grandparents Chuck and Ann Hallett and John and Olga Goy along with her mother-in-law Elizabeth Malanowich. Her pets Sidney, Buddy, Diego, Rocco and Sadie.
Donna will be greatly missed by all that knew and grew to love this exceptional person.
Special thanks to all the staff at Health Sciences Centre & CancerCare Manitoba who were there for her in her last moments, and who provided the best in care.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
