Obituary of M. Donald Morrissey
Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, April 30, 2022, M. Donald ‘Don’ Morrissey of Harbour Grace, age 69 years.
Don was a strong, hardworking man who took much enjoyment tinkering in his shed and around the garden. He was extremely funny and his wit/sarcasm would strike when you least expected it. He loved to torment and instill a little fear all at the same time. He worked hard, played hard, and loved even harder. He was a very loving and dedicated husband and father. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Predeceased by son: Michael Craig; mother: Ella; brother-in-law: James.
Leaving to mourn, wife: Jean; three daughters: Paulette, Harbour Grace, Lori (Brent), Red Deer, AB, and Kimberley (Jeff), Springdale; son: Barry (Laura), Halifax, NS; two grandchildren: Krischan and Kaelen; two step-grandchildren: Sarah (Colin) and Michael (Alyssa); three brothers: Patrick (Norma), Thomas (Brenda), and John (Karen); three sisters: Mary (Gus), Barbara (Carl), and Michelle (Leo); members of the Smith family, ten brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law; also a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
There will be no visitation. A private committal service to take place at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Harbour Grace.
In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Donald Morrissey Memorial Fund c/o Noel’s Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 1001, Harbour Grace, NL, A0A 2M0.
